What is The Zen Cruise?

The Zen Cruise is a powerful transformational journey at sea celebrating mindfulness and creative potential through world-class yoga and healing arts presenters, ecstatic dance, soul-thriving live and electronic music, sacred ceremonies, inspirational experiences and a nourishing conscious community.

The Zen Cruise  next kicks off with pre – sail events starting Tuesday, March 1st 2016. Cruise sets sail from Fort Lauderdale March 3rd, 2016 aboard Royal Caribbean’s gorgeous Independence of  the Seas ship. There will be 4 days of insightful, transformative presenters and offerings, including an optional custom sacred excursion in Cozumel.  At night, we play, with electrifying musical performances, dancing, a complimentary private cocktail party, late-night conscious carry-ons, sound healing and much more.

Tuesday, March 1st – The Culture Room, Fort Lauderdale

How do I Make Reservations?

Whet Travel is our partner and exclusive travel agency for booking The Zen Cruise. You can NOT book The Zen Cruise through other agencies or direct with the cruise line. The Zen Cruise events on the ship are all PRIVATE and specially marked ID tags are required to enter our classes, concerts and other events.

How Much is the Deposit?
You can book your cruise with a $200 nonrefundable deposit. Our cruise specialist can work out further payment arrangements with you when you book.


I’m cruising by myself – can you assign a roommate?
Yes! We get several requests for roommates. Our rates are based on double occupancy. The rate for single occupancy is approximately 2x times the double occupancy rate. If you do not want to room alone, we will find you a roommate. For detailed information please ask the travel agent when making your reservation.  Roommates are assigned within two weeks of sailing. You will be provided with the name and email address of your roommate at that time.


How Can I Arrange to Stay Next to My Friends?
Requests to be located next to your friends should be made at time of booking. We will do everything we can to get you as close to your friends as possible, however the earlier you book, the easier it is to accommodate these requests. Special requests are not guaranteed.


What does the price include?
Zen Cruise price includes

• Accommodations on ship.

• All meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, 24 hour room service. Specialty restaurants are available with either nominal cover charge or fixed price menus and à la carte pricing in addition to the standard dining program. Vegan/Vegetarian options are available.

• Most beverages (water, tea, coffee, juice)

• Government taxes and fees.

• Entrance to all on board Zen Cruise events, including The Zen Gala on March 1st and Beach Party on March 2nd, 2016!

• Non-refundable gratuities of $12.00 per person, per day  (charged to your on-board account when you board the ship)

What are Tips & Gratuities Charges?
When you board the ship, a non-refundable service charge of $12 per person per day will automatically be added to your onboard account. The service charge is for your dining room staff and stateroom stewards.

Royal Service Fees
Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines charges a mandatory, non-refundable service fee to all passengers for tips/gratuities for ship staff. This is not included in your cruise fare. A $12 per day/ per guest will be added to your shipboard account by Royal when you board the ship.

Royal Fuel Surcharges
In the event that the cost of fuel increases between now and the time we sail, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line reserves the right to impose a fuel surcharge.

Is My Reservation Refundable?
Whet Travel/ Zen Cruise CANCELLATION POLICY

Due to the nature and uniqueness of our Zen Cruise events, our cancellation policy states that there are no refunds, and there are no exceptions.  We highly recommends the purchase of travel insurance.

ALL DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE!
There are NO exceptions to our cancellation policies. We strongly recommend the purchase of travel insurance!

Cancellation policy for 2016 Zen Cruise Pre-Sale Deposits Only: If you placed a BFM or pre-sale deposit, you can cancel on or before June 5, 2015 for a full refund. After June 5th, ALL payments (including your pre-sale deposit) are non-refundable.

Cancelling your Zen Cruise
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. Please email CaptainSupport@WhetTravel.com to cancel your reservations.

Do I Need Travel Insurance?
Because of the nature and uniqueness of this event, we have strict cancellation policies. Whet Travel highly recommends the purchase of travel insurance to protect you against non-refundable costs and fees due to unexpected cancellations and travel emergencies. TRAVEL GUARD TRAVEL INSURANCE Whet Travel highly recommend the purchase of travel insurance to protect you against financial loss due non-refundable costs and fees due to unexpected cancellations and travel emergencies. Did you know travel insurance covers you for the following “covered” reasons?

  • Sickness, Injury, Death
  • Inclement Weather
  • Uninhabitable residence or destruction
  • Military Service
  • Unforeseen strikes
  • July duty, subpoena, hijacking, quarantine
  • Involuntary termination or layoff (after 1 year of employment)
  • Terrorist incident
  • Work-related reasons

Travel insurance also protects you against emergencies during travel, such as trip interruption, trip delay, missed/canceled flights, lost or stolen baggage/personal items, illness/injury and much more. We also offer an optional Cancel for Any Reason policy that must be purchased with your initial payment or deposit. If you have to cancel for a non-covered reason, the Cancel for Any Reason option will reimburse you 50% of your non-refundable costs; covered reasons will receive a 100% refund. Travel Guard will determine the amount of your refund based on the documentation you provide to them. In the event of cancellation, you must first contact Whet Travel in writing by sending an email to captainsupport@whettravel.com. Then, you must contact Travel Guard directly to submit a claim and request a refund. How can I get discounts on The Zen Cruise?
We have discount programs for veterans, groups and early payoff plans. Affiliate discounts are available and applicable only if affiliate is registered with Whet Travel and the Zen Cruise affiliate program and discount code is given at time of booking. Once booked, discount codes will not be changed for any reason. We also have a volunteer discount of $250 off. Are there any rewards for organizing groups?
Organizers of groups of at least 10 people (5 cabins) can receive discounts. The organizer can also earn money or a free cruise for putting together the group. Visit the affiliate page for more information.


I‘m Under 21, can I still Cruise?
Royal Caribbean’s policy dictates that a passenger under 21 years of age must be accompanied in the same or connecting stateroom by a passenger 21 years or older who expressly agrees to be responsible for the under 21 passenger throughout the cruise. This includes, but is not limited to, preventing under-age purchase or consumption of alcohol, preventing under-age gaming activities and preventing violations of any ship’s rules. Passengers must be age 21 to purchase or consume alcohol and age 18 to gamble on the ship.

If the accompanying adult is not the minor’s parent or legal guardian a Parent/Guardian Consent & Release Form (pdf) that authorizes the minor’s travel and further authorizes medical treatment in case of an emergency must be delivered to a Royal Caribbean representative at the pier. Failure to produce this letter at embarkation may result in boarding being denied, with no refund of cruise fare provided.

The age limit will be waived for married couples less than 21 years of age provided proof of marriage is presented to a RCCL representative at the pier.


Do I need a Passport to go on The Zen Cruise?

Whet Travel and The Zen Cruise strongly recommend that all of our guests travel with a passport (valid for at least six months beyond the completion of travel). Having a valid passport will enable you to fly from the U.S. to a foreign port in the event you miss your scheduled embarkation, or to fly back to the U.S. should you need to disembark the ship mid-cruise for any reason. The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) stipulates the following information with regards to “closed-loop” cruises, which are sailings that originate and terminate in the same U.S. Port. Please note that this information could change at any time without notice. U.S. Citizens (including children) taking “closed-loop” cruises will be able to enter or depart the country with either a valid U.S. Passport – or – Proof of citizenship, such as an original or certified copy of his or her birth certificate (or a ConsuMiamir report of Birth Abroad, or a Certificate of Naturalization), along with government issued photo identification, such as a State issued driver’s license. Other acceptable forms of identification include: • U.S. Passport Cards • Enhanced Driver’s Licenses • Trusted Traveler Cards (NEXUS, SENTRI, or FAST) • Military Identification Cards (for members of the U.S. armed forces on /official orders) • U.S. Merchant Mariner Document (for U.S. citizens on official maritime business) • Enhanced Tribal Card (where available) Please note: Baptismal papers and hospital certificates of birth are not acceptable. Voter registration cards or Social Security cards are not considered proof of citizenship. For more information, a complete list of WHTI-compliant documents or to obtain a passport application, visit www.travel.state.gov U.S. Alien Residents need a valid Alien Resident Card. Non-U.S. citizens need a valid passport and a valid, unexpired U.S. Multiple Re-entry Visa, if applicable. Non-U.S. Citizens: You will need a valid passport and, in some cases, a visa. If you live in the U.S., you will also need the original copy of your Alien Registration Card (ARC or “Green Card”) and any other documentation the countries on your itinerary require due to your alien status. If you are not a U.S. Citizen, please contact U.S. Immigrations at 1-800-375-5283 to be sure your identification will be satisfactory for both entry into the U.S., and for the cruise. Citizens from the Visa Waiver Program countries will require a machine-readable passport valid for the duration of their voyage. All guests must present the required documentation at embarkation. Guests without the required documentation will be denied boarding and no refund will be issued. Please understand that Royal Caribbean Cruise Line will strictly enforce this requirement to be in compliance with this important U.S. Government mandate. Non-U.S. citizens, including resident aliens, must contact the appropriate consulates, embassies and/or immigration office(s) to inquire about necessary documentation for the Cruise’s ports of call. Your name, as listed on your travel documents, must exactly match your name as listed on your Cruise documents. It is YOUR responsibility to make sure you have the proper documents to board the ship.
